Dunlop tyre technologies
We were the first to apply race tyre performance standards to street tyres. With engineers and designers across Europe, Japan and North America.
The technologies incorporated into the GP RACER SLICK D212 motorbike tyre
-MULTI-TREAD (MT) TECHNOLOGY: Years of success in World Superbike, Endurance and GP championships have enabled us to develop a revolutionary type of compound used in many of our current Sportmax products for track and road. The use of two different compounds in the same tyre provides optimum grip performance in corners, while giving the bike exceptional stability and traction in a straight line.
- SEAMLESS TIRE CONSTRUCTION (JLB): We design all our Sportmax road tyres using a combination of CAD (Computer Aided Design), finite element analysis and seamless tyre construction, or JLB (front or rear). The use of a JLB structure eliminates any overlapping plies that occur on some tyres. The result is smoother handling and a more stable contact patch.
- NTEC: The ingenious NTEC technology offers motorcyclists the possibility of optimising the tyre by adjusting the inflation pressure. On a dry circuit, deflating the NTEC tyre offers predictable, consistent handling. On the road, adjusting the tyre inflation pressure to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer ensures the best levels of grip and performance.
