The suspension components of a motorbike are crucial to ensuring a stable, comfortable and safe ride, by absorbing road irregularities and maintaining contact between the tyres and the ground.
The front fork is an essential component of a motorbike's front suspension. It generally consists of two tubes (bushes) containing the springs and shock absorbers. These elements absorb road shock and help keep the front wheel in contact with the ground, which is why it's so important to take good care of them. When servicing your forks, replace your original guide rings as well as your spy seals and dust covers.
Rear shock absorbers, also known as 'rear suspension' or 'shock absorbers', are located at the rear of the motorbike. They play a similar role to the front forks, absorbing shocks and ensuring a stable ride. There are also suspension links, articulated components that help transmit suspension movement between different parts of the system.
