Armour Bodies is a Canadian company founded in 2000 in North Bay, Ontario. It has introduced the most flexible and strongest fibreglass poly on the world market thanks to its unique technology. Its perfect fit and amazing flexibility make Armour Bodies THE premium manufacturer of track poly.
The brand sells these products individually or as a kit, which contains: the fork head - the shoe - the mudguard - the original saddle shell as well as the necessary screws and bolts for the assembly.
Manufacturing of the Armour Bodies fairing
Each mould is carefully developed in Canada from the original parts. They are fully scanned and then processed with software to create perfectly finished moulds.
Armour Bodies use full sheet fibreglass to make their fairings, which makes them much stronger and lighter. The fibre itself is very flexible, so the full sheet retains all its flexible properties.
Other fairing manufacturers use chunks of fibre which makes their parts heavier and much more brittle.
The resin that is added to the fibre comes from the kayak industry. It has been developed to withstand rock impacts with exceptional flexibility and amazing lightness.
The resin also has a near-zero shrinkage rate, which ensures uniformity and conformity of the parts. In addition, it highlights imperfections so that they can be corrected before the next manufacturing steps.
Each fixing point of the Armour Bodies polys is reinforced with Carbon-Kevlar to avoid cracks and crazing when mounting your fairing.
Finally, each kit is primed (light grey finish). You will only have to sand it lightly if you want to paint it for an optimal grip. The inside of each piece is painted black for a clean, crisp finish.
No Gel Coat is used in the manufacture of these fairings as it is extremely rigid unlike resin and primer.
