Known as forged carbon thanks to Lamborghini, which developed the first parts using this new material in 2008 for its supercars, you can also find it under the name of chopped or marbled carbon.

Forged carbon is a new composite with a unique manufacturing technique. Unlike standard woven carbon, forged carbon is made by mixing pieces of carbon with resin.

Small fragments of carbon fibre are impregnated with epoxy resin to create a film. This is then placed in a mould to be heated and pressed into its final shape. The piece is then varnished and sanded many times to obtain a result that is perfectly smooth to the touch.

This 'chopped' carbon technique gives the material a greater ability to adapt to complex shapes, which is particularly useful for three-dimensional parts for cars and motorbikes. Another important quality is that the interweaving of the pieces gives the same strength performance as twill carbon.

All parts are available with a gloss or matt varnish finish, depending on the desired effect.
